Finances:-
£232.70 in bank which will need to be used by the 31st March 2008. Photocopying and Printing costs to be reimbursed to the school.
New signs are needed for the Parent Council with 2 names removed and 2 new names added – Lorraine and Sandra
2) Headteacher Report:-
Primary advisor, Hilda Quail has visited the school to address the 2 action points from HMIe inspection:-
1. Curricular folder of evidence:- this has now been created.
2. Extension:- Architects plans have now been drawn up for extension – no costing and no dates set as yet.
A letter will be sent out to parents outlining position with action points and our continuous improvement.
3) SHRE
Parent Council were given an overview for lessons from P1 – P7.
Parents will be informed of our current position – input from Positive Steps.
Parent Council looked at current documents and legislation:-
McCabe Report, Respect and Responsibility, Glasgow Sexual Health & Relationship Documents
Outline to Parent Council about 3 days of parents meetings, leaflets given out to parents. Following this a pilot phase of teaching will commence. P6 & P7 will still receive Positive Steps input after SHRE lessons.
MATHS WORKSHOP
Michelle to arrange a suitable date to meet with a Parents as Partners Working Party to organise the workshop.
ICT SUITE.
The Grand Opening of the ICT Suite to be held during this term. A date will be organised shortly.
CONSULTATIONS
HT submitted Parent Council responses to Religious Observations, Additional Support for Learning / EAL and Vision, Value and Aims.
4) AOCB
COUNCILLOR HAY
Councillor Hay informed the Parent Council that a plaque to commemorate the life of William Reid V.C. is to be displayed in Baillieston.
The Lord Provost is to unveil the plaque and children from schools in the area will give a presentation. No date has been confirmed as yet but this event will be held on a Saturday.
School crossing Patrol:- Councillor Hay is involved in trying to reduce the problems with lack of crossing patrols. Councillor Hay will keep track of the situation.
Councillor Hay is Chair of the Autism Unit and outlined to the Parent Council the issues surrounding Autistic Children as they grow up and the impact it can have on their life.
NHS
The NHS is 60 years old this year.

DISCO
A disco to be held on Tuesday 19th February.
Infants 6.30pm – 7.30pm
Upper 7.45pm – 9.00pm
Children to pay £1
DJ has been booked (£90).
Tuck – Michelle to organise
Face Painting
Gillian to put in newsletter and include a list of what tuck will be on sale.
Ladies Night – possible dates – 29th February or the 7th March
Unable to get Robert Burns Hall. A provisional booking has been made for Caledonia Centre. Margaret to check availability of St. Bridget’s’ Hall
Johnny Disco to cost £120
Emma to do flyer and Michelle the tickets.
Raffle – Donations for raffle to be asked for
Special Raffle 50% prize money
50% school funds.
P7 PROM
This years prom will be on 19th June in the Caledonia Centre.
SUMMER FAYRE
Will be held on 31st May. This will be fully discussed at the next meeting.
